A LOVE TO CREATE
"I always thought that in life, you breathe, you eat, you sleep and you draw."
Something not everyone knows about me is that I draw a lot. When I'm not designing jewelry, I'm still making art. I can't help but feel nostalgic as I sit on the floor, in the backroom of my shop, with a sketchbook and my colored pencils as Zack finishes up emails for the night, and my dad works in his studio beside us. Starting at the age of five and all the way through elementary school, I would sit on the floor of my dad's studio and draw. When I turned eight, he paid me a small allowance of one and five dollar bills to create drawings of the client's jewelry he was repairing or creating. Of course, at that time, my illustrations were absolutely terrible and all done with gel pens or Crayola markers, but I loved it. It didn't matter that everything I made turned out badly, all that mattered was that I was creating and I was enjoying myself. My dad always told me that if you find something you're passionate about, you have to put your whole self into it. I love to draw and I love jewelry. I enjoy life when I'm creating, and that is the very beginning of Alyssa & Anna.
